I’m not saying that he didn’t deserve the red card, but he should not have received the red card in that game because no referee saw the offense back then there was no var so they were not allowed to use any outside objects to call a foul. The foul was called because the referees saw it on the screen. It took so long to try to figure out what happened that they had time to see the TV screen in the stadium, which they were not allowed to use if they didn’t see it they couldn’t call it.
